Travelling for Umrah is simpler than it once was. For most independent pilgrims there are two practical routes, and choosing well saves time and money.
The tourist eVisa route
Outside the Hajj season, Saudi Arabia’s multiple-entry tourist eVisa permits Umrah. It is fast (often approved within a day or two), valid for a year, and lets you combine the pilgrimage with visiting Madinah or other parts of the Kingdom.
The dedicated Umrah visa
Arranged through approved providers, often as part of a package with flights and accommodation. This is the usual route for group travel and during busier periods.
What to prepare
- A passport valid for at least six months beyond entry.
- A compliant passport photo.
